Beach Shorts Film Fest This Saturday!

The Beach Shorts Film Fest is taking over the Hermosa Beach Community Center this Saturday at 7pm. The event features surf film shorts from local film makers and a raffle for a Davenport Surfboard. $10 at the door. Hope to see you there!

Beach Shorts Film Fest Now Accepting Submissions!

The Beach Shorts Film Fest will be accepting short film entries from now until August 1st. The film fest and screening date is set for August 16th at the Hermosa Beach Community Center.

Davenport Surfboards is proud to have been a part of this event for the last couple of years. S,o to continue to share the stoke we will again be donating a board for the raffle. That's right one lucky surf film lover will be walking away with a new Davenport Surfboard! There will also be a sampling of Davenport Surfboards to check out at the event.

Beach Shorts Film Fest

A big thanks to Ambassador of Stoke Barry Hatchett for putting on another great event! It's so great to see how this event has grown over the last six years. Looking forward next year's BSFF already. Here are a couple of pics from last night.

Just a couple of this year's film makers. 

 Winner of this years board was Remy, who was strangely enough also last year's winner. This guy's got some sort of raffle mojo going on. Dude should be buying lottery tickets instead. Either way this guy is building a pretty sweet quiver one raffle ticket at a time.

JoJo Bros and Edfactor...Mr. Factor is clearly stokin' on being so close to greatness. 

My guess is that Ed will be trading in his Hawaiian shirt for a top hat within the year. Also, by 2013 "8=D" will be the new YOLO. Mark my words!

Beach Shorts Film Fest

This Saturday the Beach Shorts Film Fest will be showing the best in local surf film shorts on the big screen. There will be a raffle with tons goodies with a grand prize of a 9'6" 4065. Davenport Surfboards will also be bringing down a quiver of various models and other goodies to check out. The fun starts at 7pm at the Hermosa Beach Community Center (corner of Pier Ave and PCH).

Tyler Surfboards BBQ this Saturday

Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 14th !  We’re always looking for a good reason to celebrate and why not celebrate our very own local, California crafts?  Here’s what’s gonna be happening: Tyler will be unveiling a new, super-secret addition to the Tyler Surfboards lineup.  We’ll have cool art from local artists such as Jason Baffa and Perry Gillotti.  We may have a couple surprise displays up our sleeve.  Last but not least, Mike Keller of California Rancher will be cooking up a traditional Santa Maria BBQ including tri-tip sandwiches with all the trimmings.

We will have a special, limited-edition t-shirt to commemorate hopefully the first of many California Craftsmen celebrations.  Tickets are $20 for both lunch and a t-shirt.  You can come and just check everything out without a ticket, but you’ll regret it the second you smell the BBQ and see the shirt!  Quantities are limited so purchase your tickets ahead of time to reserve your goods.  We can’t serve beers, but we might have ice chests available for anything you might bring.  Wink wink.

Afterwards we’re walking over to Standard Station to continue the celebration and to taste El Segundo Brewing Company’s finest craft beers.   Word has it that ESBC brewery might be showing up to talk about his beers.

Buy your ticket ASAP, take a surf in the morning on the 14th, then cruise over to Tyler’s about 11am.
